Croatia begin Euro 2024 with a stalemate against Italy

Croatia and Italy played out a goalless draw in their opening match of Euro 2024 Group B on Sunday. Both sides had chances to win the game, but neither could find a breakthrough.
Croatia had the better chances in the first half, with Andrej Kramaric coming close on a couple of occasions. However, Italy grew into the game in the second half and had their own chances to score. Ciro Immobile and Federico Chiesa both went close, but they could not find a way past Dominik Livakovic in the Croatia goal.
The result leaves both teams with one point after one game. Croatia will face Spain in their next match, while Italy will play the Czech Republic.
In other Group B news, Spain and the Czech Republic played out a thrilling 2-2 draw. Spain took the lead twice, through Alvaro Morata and Pablo Sarabia, but the Czech Republic came back both times to earn a share of the spoils.
The draw leaves Spain and the Czech Republic level on points after one game. Spain will face Croatia in their next match, while the Czech Republic will play Italy.
